According to a survey conducted by OMG Research[1], 85% of Czechs have done last-minute Christmas shopping - that is a week before Christmas or less - at some point already. In the case of university students, the number is even higher - 94%. More than half of us have done the Christmas shopping at the eleventh hour – i.e. within the last 48 hours before Christmas Eve.
The survey shows that besides shopping malls, small brick-and-mortar shops and Christmas markets, filling stations are among the places where people do their last-minute shopping the most. At the station they typically choose alcohol, sweets, or highway vignettes. The respondents would be happy for a wider selection of cosmetics or fuel and service vouchers. And it was the vouchers that inspired the Tank Card EASY, although it offers much more benefits than just a regular voucher.
„We often don’t have any idea about what to buy for our loved ones for Christmas. That’s why we developed this gift card which can be a valuable present for the whole family. On top of that, if somebody has to buy a last-minute gift at a filling station we are ready to offer them something nice that won’t look cheap and will be useful for everybody,“ says Agnieszka Bobrukiewicz, Head of Benzina Marketing Department. The card can be loaded with the amount of customer’s own choice and the card-holder can use it to pay for any goods at the station. Besides the fact that the card looks nice, it saves drivers’ money. Compared to the prices shown at the price signs, card-holders can save up to one crown per litre.
The survey was conducted by OMG Research – research unit Omnicom Media Group. The data collection made by CAWI method took place from 9th to 13th November 2017 on a representative sample of 500 respondents aged 15-64.
